Rhiannon (Nan) Steiner is a Florida based artist who explores film photography and analog processes to create surrealist images.

Having a camera in hand since her 90’s childhood on the Gulf coast in central FLA, Nan was taught through family, in-person classes and avid curiosity. Most recently (Jan 2026) she completed a darkroom photography workshop with Lance Rothstein at the Morean Arts Center in St Petersburg, FLA where she developed and printed her own images.

Not only the coast but the Gulf itself has heavily influenced the artist. It was on her fathers shrimp boat that she was introduced to Florida’s magical waterways as well as the toll we take while fishing. Nan’s aquatic reverence is a common theme through her work.

Now in her 30s and after nearly a decade of working transiently, Nan is enjoying being in one place. In her backyard studio she has been working with cyanotype, an alternative photography process using light sensitive chemistry on paper.
